Vials of melted ice from Joe Louis Arena for sale!

Detroit Red Wings fans can get a hand on bottled memories of Joe Louis Arena.

The NHL team is selling limited-edition vials of melted ice from the team's old rink. The proceeds will benefit the Detroit Red Wings Foundation's mission to grow hockey.

"The Detroit Red Wings Foundation is thrilled to offer a unique opportunity for fans to support our cause while honoring the history of Joe Louis Arena," said Foundation director Kevin Brown. "These commemorative ice vials serve as a wonderful keepsake, capturing the essence of (Joe Louis Arena's) electrifying farewell."

The vials will cost $85 and be featured inside an individually numbered 6x8 inch shadowbox frame photo of Joe Louis Arena. Only 3,000 will be available.
