Waiver Update: Canucks Dman Patrick Wiercioch

Placed on waivers by the Vancouver Canucks yesterday as a result of a trade with the Pittsburgh Penguins that saw the team acquire Derrick Pouliot, defenseman Patrick Wiercioch has cleared waivers. 

It’s expected that he’ll join the Utica Comets for their game against the Toronto Marlies this Saturday. Signed as an unrestricted free-agent this summer after played 57 games with the Colorado Avalanche last season. 

The 27-year-old native of Burnaby has played a total of 268 NHL games between the Avs and the Ottawa Senators, putting up 16 goals and 74 points.
