Watch: Canadian fans chant “Maple Syrup!” During team’s 14-0 win over Denmark

Just about as Canadian as it gets!

In case you missed it, Team Canada opened up the 2019 World Junior Championships last night with a dominating 14-0 win over Denmark.

Leading the charge was Philadelphia Flyers draft pick (27th overall in 2017) Morgan Frost who scored three goals and five points, which inspired the crowd to a few rousing “FROSTY! FROSTY! FROSTY!” chants throughout the evening, but perhaps the best chant of the night as captured by TSN, who caught a group of beared, jean jacketed (Canadian tuxedo) gentlemen chanting, “MAPLE SYRUP! MAPLE SYRUP! MAPLE SYRUP!”

That’s a new one…

The group of Canadian superfans happen to have a name, as well.. they’re the Larscheiders named after former Vancouver Canucks broadcaster Tom Larscheid. Check out their Instagram page below:
