If you don’t know the story of former Humboldt Broncos defenseman Logan Boulet, I suggest you find yourself a box of tissues before delving in. The 21 year old blueliner was amongst the 16 individuals tragically killed last April in a horrific bus accident in rural Saskatchewan. Unlike most of his teammates though, Boulet was an organ donor. Doctors managed to harvest several of his vital organs, including his heart, to help others at risk of losing their own lives.

In short, he’s a hero.

Boulet’s iconic green and yellow Broncos jersey graces the cover of the latest edition of Sports Illustrated, for a feature story called “The Logan Effect.”
