Things havent exactly gone how the Jets had expected this season. After making the playoffs for the first time since being back in Winnipeg, the Jets had hoped to get there for a second straight season. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like that will be the case.

The Jets are 9 points out of the last wild card sport but are also only 4 points ahead of the teams who are last in the NHL. To put things in perspective, the Jets made it into the playoffs last season with the last wild card spot and 99 points. If they wanted to get to that 99 points mark again this season, they would have to go 26-7-0 over their last 33 games. As you can see, they will have to be close to perfect.

The Jets are also in the middle of a lot of trade rumors. With Andrew Ladd and Dustin Byfuglien attracting a lot of attention. Both will be free agents as of July 1st and there is also Jacob Trouba who will be a restricted free agent and will look to earn a large increase. So there is little chance that the Jets will be able to keep all 3 players. Who will go and who will stay, that is the question around the Jets these days. Hopefully once all these questions are answered, then the Jets can refocus on once again making the playoffs.
