The Wild currently find themselves 1 point out of a playoff spot. They will look to use the All Star break to rest up and get ready for the final stretch of the regular season.

Only 1 point behind Nashville for the final wildcard spot with a game in hand, Minnesota has a good chance to grab a playoff spot. Unfortunately they are in the Central division which is by far the toughest in the NHL. That means that they will have to focus on grabbing a wildcard spot if they want to get into the playoffs. The Wild will definitely have to start turning things around right away if they want to have a chance. They are 2-6-2 in their last 10 games and is a main reason why they are no longer sitting in a playoff spot.

So what will the Wild have to do the rest of the way? If we look at last season, Winnipeg grabbed the final wild card spot with 99 points. So that would mean Minnesota will have to earn 44 points over their final 33 games. They would have to go at least 22-11-0 over that span to reach the 99 point mark. It will definitely be a tough challenge but if the Wild can get on a roll and play how we know they can, hopefully they will be back to the playoffs.
