The All Star break provided the Detroit Red Wings with some much needed rest. Their only player who took part in the All Star game was rookie Dylan Larkin and he definitely showed everyone he has energy to spare.

So what can we expect from the Wings during the last and most important stretch of the season? Unfortunately it starts with some bad news. As we posted already, Niklas Kronwall will be out for at least the next 10 games. The Red Wings currently sit in third place in the Atlantic division tied with Tampa Bay with 58 points. Both teams having played 49 games.

If we look at what it took Pittsburgh to claim the last wild card spot, it would mean that Detroit would need a minimum 98 points. So that would mean the Wings would need to go 20-13-0 over their last 33 games to reach that mark.

With how tight the Eastern Conference is, it is going to be quite the battle till the last game.
