Forbes released yesterday their annual NHL team valuations and the New-York Rangers were on top of the list. Forbes also released at the same time their ranking of the fans across the NHL.

"To calculate our ranking we gathered five fan consumption metrics: local television ratings (per Nielsen and Canadian partners), arena attendance (based on capacity reached), resale ticket demand (per Vivid Seats), merchandise sales (per Fanatics and Shop.NHL.com), and social media reach (a combination of Facebook and Twitter followers)." as noted on Forbes.

Here's the top 10:

#1 Chicago Blackhawks. The Hawks increased their fan base by 600% during the last ten years. Bandwagon much?

#2 Montreal Canadiens. The team managed to sell out every home game since 2004.

#3 Pittsburgh Penguins. Last year's Stanley Cup champions have one of the biggest social media reach.

#4 Boston Bruins. They continued to manage the best local TV ratings among cities with 4 professional sport teams.

#5 Toronto Maple Leafs. Canada's biggest market is expected to improve their standing with the emergence of Auston Matthews.

#6 New-York Rangers. NHL's most valued team has one of the best fanbase in the league!

#7 Winnipeg Jets. It was about time for Winnipeg to get a second chance and the fans are showing Bettman he was right.

#8 Detroit Red Wings. Hockeytown's fans are in the top10, one could have expected to see them earlier in the ranking.

#9 Buffalo Sabres. Their TV ratings are up the roof, despite missing the playoff since 2011.

#10 Minnesota Wild. The Wild sold every tickets they had last year which lead to a 4% increase for the 2016-2017 season.
