Wild roster moves ahead of third game!

The Minnesota Wild have made some roster moves ahead of Game Three against the St. Louis Blues on Sunday.

General Manager Chuck Fletcher confirmed a swap in backup goaltenders with Steve Michalek being sent back to the Wild’s AHL affiliate in Iowa, being replaced by Alex Stalock.

Stalock played in two games for the Minnesota this season, posting a 1.51 GAA and a 0.944 save-percentage. He had 50 starts for Iowa this season, with a 2.28 GAA and a .926 save-percentage.

Defenseman Victor Bartley has been taken off of injury-reserve. He missed the entire season this year after tearing his triceps during training camp. Bartley has yet to play a game for the Wild, but has 121 NHL games and 23 points in four seasons with the Nashville Predators and a brief stint with the Montreal Canadiens.

At 6’, 215 lbs, the 29-year-old Bartley could find bottom-six minutes with the Wild in a hard-hitting series against the Blues.

In a series closer than the score would indicated, the Wild could use even the slightest advantage against the Blues. Despite being down 0-2, both games have been low-scoring affairs decided by a single late goal.

It’s doubtful that Stalock will see any ice time, barring devastating injuries to the Wild’s goaltenders, he sits third on the depth chart behind Devin Dubnyk and Darcy KuemperBartley may see some ice time, but he is essentially a depth player and his game-status will be decided by head coach Bruce Boudrau.

The Minnesota Wild will take on the Blues in St. Louis in Game 3 on Sunday, April 16th.
