This will certainly not be a highlight of veteran National Hockey League forward J.T. Brown's career in the league.

According to a report from Sarah McLellan of The Star Tribune, the Wild winger was arrested on Saturday in Dallas following an incident that occurred at a location known as the British Beverage Company. The arrest reportedly took place at 2:18 am so you can imagine what kind of state the people involved in this incident were likely in, including Brown himself who was arrested for public intoxication. Although the details of the incident have still not been made public there are reports that an off duty police officer was involved in the incident and that can't bode well for Brown in this matter.

To his credit Brown appears to have accepted full responsibility for his actions over the week end and would even acknowledge that he should not have put himself in the situation that he found himself in. Nonetheless when you consider that this is just his first year with the Wild organization, the team likely will not be very happy with the fact that he has now publicly embarrassed them.

“I would like to apologize to the Minnesota Wild, my teammates, family, and fans for the poor decision I made,” Brown said in a statement issued to the Star Tribune. “I went out the night before our last game in Dallas, put myself in a bad situation, and take full responsibility for my actions. I have learned from my mistake and will make sure it does not happen again.”

The Wild also sat Brown in their season finally and reported that their reason for doing so was due to "illness" however it now appears that this was a bold faced lie designed to mask the fact that Brown had been arrested. Unsurprisingly when McLellan reached out to the organization for comment on the matter there was not much of a response forthcoming from the Wild.

“We are aware of the report involving J.T. Brown in Dallas and will have no further comment at this time,” said the team in a statement.

Going out and getting so wasted you end up arrested before the final game of the season is certainly not a flattering portrait of Brown.
