Wild speculation after Leafs make a very curious move with one of their forwards.

The Toronto Maple Leafs made the decision to send veteran forward Eric Fehr down to the American Hockey League this week, and while that in of itself was not a strange move, what followed was. 

The Maple Leafs have now loaned Fehr to the AHL's San Diego Gulls, the official affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, and at this time the reason for the move is currently unclear. 

The move has raised more than a few eyebrows around the league, and adding fuel to the fire is the fact that the Leafs and Ducks have made a number of significant trades with one another over the past several seasons,

The 32-year-old center has only appeared in 4 games so far for the Leafs this season and he has accumulated no points and a plus minus rating of -1 over that stretch.
