The Minnesota Wild have managed a major turn around since the termination of former head coach Mike Yeo, and as a result they find themselves in a playoff position. Unfortunately the Wild will now have to overcome adversity again as the team has lost a talented forward.

The Wild have announced that forward Thomas Vanek will miss the start of the postseason as a result of an injury, it's unclear at this time what the exact nature of the injury is, it has merely been described as an “upper-body injury.”

The Wild were also relatively vague when it comes to the timetable for Vanek's return, the team would only state that he will be out for “at least a week,” which obviously leaves open the possibility he could be out even longer.

Vanek is having arguably the worst season of his pro career, and it appears he will continue to be a disappointment to fans of the Wild.
