Most people who love hockey and who grew up in Minnesota will tell you that some of their fondest memories were playing hockey outside on a local rink with the snow falling. Well that is exactly what we have today. The snow is falling and the Wild are up 2-0.

The Wild came out with a burst of energy and were up 2-0 after 7:10 played in the first period. The atmosphere was great to start the game and the State of Hockey showed exactly why they have that name.

Matthew Dumba got the Wild out to the early lead and then former Golden Gopher Thomas Vanek put the Wild up by 2.

There is still lots of hockey to be played, but that was definitely the start the Wild wanted!
