The Wild have already lost a man for a considerable length of time.

The Minnesota Wild added some depth to their blue line over the summer, but that depth has already been removed from their roster by injury.

According to a report from the Pioneer Press, Minnesota Wild defenseman Victor Bartley has suffered a major injury, a torn bicep, and he will require surgery in order to repair the damage.

The Wild have not released a timetable for his return although it's fairly obvious based on the nature of his injury that Bartley will miss significant time, something that head coach Bruce Boudreau appeared to confirm when he said Bartley would be “out for a while,” as per the Pioneer Press.

The journeyman was only likely to play in a limited role for the Wild this season, but there's no doubt that this injury will be a major inconvenience for both the NHL club as well as the Iowa Wild where Bartley would have likely spent some of his time this season.
