The Detroit Red Wings might have topped the Rangers 3-2 last night in New York, however, they didn't care about the win following the game. One of their own, forward Jacob de la Rose had to leave the game when he started suffering from a cardiac issue.

Right before urgently leaving, the young forward managed to record an assist in the victory.

Dan Rosen of NHL.com revealed during the game that de la Rose had to leave Madison Square Garden and was taken to a hospital when he spent the night with an accelerated heartbeat.

The Wings have now announced that de la Rose will be sidelined indefinitely due to his condition.

“We hope everything is fine. He’ll spend the night here, go home and see a specialist and make sure everything is good. We want to be extra cautious with it," head coach Jeff Blashill said to the Detroit News after the game.

Before he was claimed off waivers from the Montreal Canadiens last fall, the 23-year-old experienced a cardiac episode following an exhibition game while with the Habs. He was cleared to play by the time the Wings picked him off waivers Oct. 17.

“I think he probably felt it and went to the training staff,” Blashill added. “The training staff checked him and it was accelerated and they couldn’t get it to slow down. At that point, you get him to the hospital to make sure. Again, I think it is all precautionary right now, but he will go back and see a specialist.”

We are sending him our thoughts and prayers and wish him all the best.
