Red Wings prospect and Grand Rapids Griffins' player, Alden Hirschfeld suffered a seizure on Friday night behind the bench. The 27 year-old was sitting on the bench when he suddenly bent over and collapse on the players' bench.

Griffins players and coaches immediately singled the officials who stopped the play and the medical staff rushed to Hirschfeld's side.

The game was halted a full 10 minutes, before the Wings' prospect was taken out of the ice on a stretcher. Players and coaches have confirmed that he was alert and responsive when the doctors were talking to him behind the bench.

The Grand Rapid Griffins informed people through their social media platform that Hirschfeld was victim of a medical incident, but it was confirmed later that he had a seizure.

He is with his family at the hospital resting, but his condition is stable.
