If you're a Canadian hockey fan, chances are one of your most cherished hockey memory is that magical gold medal win thanks to Sidney Crosby and the rest of Team Canada at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. If you're an American hockey fan... well, I'm sorry because this article may trigger some pretty strong emotions.

I mean... who can forget this?

"CROSBY SCORES! SIDNEY CROSBY! THE GOLDEN GOAL! AND CANADA HAS ONCE IN A LIFETIME OLYMPIC GOLD!"

Again, I hate to do this to our American hockey fans out there but it's just such a historic moment in Canadian sports history. And here's the thing... one Vanouver city council member is trying to bring the magic back. Vancouver council member Melissa De Genova has proposed bidding on future winter Olympic games in an effort to boost the city's economy since COVID-19 has slowed things for the tourism heavy city.

"I thought that it was a really good economic opportunity for Vancouver," said De Genova, who admits she was surprised to see staff putting the motion back into action now. "I think it is really important to leave no stone unturned when we're looking at economic opportunities for our city right now," she said.

The discussion of whether or not to put in a bid for the 2030 Winter Olympics will be on the agenda when Vancouver City Council members meet later this week. Could we get yet another "Once in a lifetime" moment for Canadian hockey fans?
