The New York Islanders have lost one of their young forwards.

While we do not know how exactly 23-year-old center Alan Quine got hurt, on Tuesday the Islanders officially confirmed that he has in fact suffered an "upper-body injury" that will keep him sidelined for some time.

According to the Islanders Quine is now expected to miss the next four to six weeks as a result of the undisclosed injury, something that will almost certainly impact his preparation for the regular season.

The timing for Quine could not be worse, after being relegated to playing American Hockey League he finally had his breakout NHL season when he appeared in 64 games for the Islanders during the 2016-2017 campaign. Quinte put up 5 goals and 13 assists for a total of 18 points with the Islanders over that stretch last season.
