You hate to see any player get hurt, but when it's a young player on an incredible hot streak it feels a little bit worse than normal.

On Monday night highly skilled young defenseman Oliver Ekman-Larsson, of the Arizona Coyotes, was injured after a minor collision in the Coyotes zone resulted in some form of upper body injury that would force him to leave the contest.

It was a seemingly harmless, and as mentioned above minor-looking collision with Colorado's Matt Duchene, that sent Ekman-Larsson down to the ice, although it may have been the collision with the boards, which came after the fact, that caused the injury. Ekman-Larsson did also appear to fall awkwardly on his shoulder, which he seemed to be favoring after the fact, that may have also been the source of the injury.

At this time it's pure speculation, and the Coyotes aren't saying much, simply listening Ekman-Larsson as day to day.
