Young forward preventing Hawks from making a trade?

The Chicago Blackhawks have been inconsistent scoring up front this season and their biggest need may be a top-nine center. But the important question is: will they choose to shop for one on the market or will they use internal help?

While Scott Powers of The Athletic believes they could give Tanner Kero another look, the Hawks benefit of a huge advantage on the trade market this season.

GM Stan Bowman is lucky that he could be using the Marian Hossa’s long-term injured reserve space to acquire a center before the trade deadline.

"Another center who is effective on faceoffs and can help offensively seems like a key missing piece for this team."

If the Hawks can pull off a trade for a centre, as several other teams like the Vancouver Canucks, Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins are in the market for one, they could be a force to reckon with in the postseason. However, the price to pay might be high for Bowman...

What do you prefer: to give Kero another shot or move to the market right away?

In eight games with the Hawks this season, Kero tallied a goal and three points.
