A young National Hockey League forward has just become a multi-millionaire.
While there has not yet been an official announcement from the Tampa Bay Lightning organization, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman has reported that the Tampa Bay Lightning have signed a new deal worth over 25 million dollars.
Friedman initially reported that the Lightning were working on a 5-year-deal with Palat that would be worth over 5 million per season, and has since updated that report to state that Palat has come in at $5.3 million per season.
That means the 26-year-old forward will earn a total of $26.5 million total over his new deal, that's over $1 million for every year of life he has spent on the planet so far.
Palat has earned it and is coming off a season that saw him record 17 goals and 35 assists for 52 points in 72 regular season games last season.
