A pretty awesome moment occurred during a recent game between the New York Islanders and Nashville Predators.
A young Predators fan by the name of
Mia was attending the game to celebrate her 11th birthday when she was struck on the arm by a puck that had gone out of play. The puck had been knocked out of play when Predators goalie Pekka Rinne intercepted a pass in front of his net with a poke check. To his credit Rinne noticed the puck striking Mia, and skated over to see if she was ok.
Rinne then took the opportunity to once again demonstrate that hockey players are the best pro athletes in the world by signing his stick during a commercial break, and making sure an attendant delivered it to her.
So while Mia may have hurt her arm a little, the good news is she got the coolest birthday present a young Predators fans could ask for.
