A young forward may have just seen his chances at breaking into the National Hockey League this season vanish.

An official report from the Montreal Canadiens has revealed that 20-year-old Jeremiah Addison has suffered a major shoulder injury, and now that he has undergone surgery to repair the damage he is expected to miss a whopping six months.

Obviously 6 months would be the majority of the NHL season and despite Addison's strong performance in the Ontario Hockey League last season it seems unlikely that he will break into the NHL after such a devastating injury.

Addison is coming of a 51 games performance with the Windsor Spitfires that saw him record 24 goals and 19 assists for a total of 43 points.
