Young man loses father to cancer, scores the overtime winner hours later.

this 17 year old man may have just scored one of the most inspirational hockey goals we have ever seen.

In an unbelievable story of overcoming incredible adversity Notre Dame-West Haven defenseman Doug Caliendo won the game for his team in overtime, this only hours after he lost his father to a battle with stomach cancer.

Caliendo's team was down 2-0 to start the game but they managed to bounce back and tie it up in the third to force the overtime frame. That's when Caliendo came up big and fired a shot from the point that found it's way into the net, causing Caliendo to immediately point skywards to his father, before being mobbed by his teammates.
