Your Cal: Who’s better? The Sens or Leafs?
Keystone Press

It’s been awhile since both the Ottawa Senators and Toronto Maple Leafs found themselves at or near the top of their division simultaneously. The two provincial rivals haven’t quite synched up in terms of talent and performance for the past few years. But hockey fans in Canada’s largest province can look forward to many great years of hockey in front of them with the two teams in Ontario.

So, which team is better? The Leafs boast a boatload of young talent with the likes of Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner and William Nylander, but the Sens have a solid core of young veterans led by Kyle Turris, Mark Stone, Mike Hoffman and Derick Brassard. Then of course there’s superstar Erik Karlsson. While the Leafs, or any team for that matter, can’t match Karlsson on D, Morgan Reilly, Jake Gardiner and Nikita Zaitsev looked awfully good last season when pressed into big minutes by Leafs’ head coach Mike Babcock

Leafs fans seem to think, and rightly so, that their team is the right path to pass the Sens in terms of performance. But are they better now? What do you think?
