Your Call: Who will score more points in 2017-18? Marner or Nylander?

There’s no denying the fact that the Toronto Maple Leafs have some of the best young talent in the NHL. Between the dynamic trio of Auston Matthews, Mitch Marner and William Nylander, the Leafs’ offence looks set for the next decade. And, while Matthews clearly stands apart on another level, Marner and Nylander aren’t as far behind as you may think.

Matthews outpaced his teammates with 69 points in his rookie season but Marner’s and Nylander’s identical 61 point seasons are nothing to sneeze at. Heading into 2017-18 though, which one of the two is poised for even bigger things? The sky is the limit for Matthews, but does Marner or Nylander hold the bigger threat to challenge for the Leafs’ scoring lead?

The dynamic duo put up staggeringly similar statistics during their respective rookie campaigns. While Nylander’s 22 goals edged out Marner’s 19, Marner’s 42 assists edged out Nylander’s 39. In the end they both ended up with 61 points on the campaign. There’s no denying that this is a tough call, but who has your pick?
