Youth hockey team robbed of their equipment in the middle of the summer.

You can consider this more of a public service announcement than a news story, but no doubt reading this will get your blood boiling just like it did mine.

According to a social media post from the Ice Den, a trailer filled with hockey equipment for a youth hockey program was stolen in the early hours of Sunday morning. Although hockey equipment is obviously expensive, why anyone would want to steal from young children and deny them a chance to play the sport they love is completely beyond me. Here is the statement released by the organization, unedited and in full.

Ice Den Community:

This morning at 5:30 a.m. a trailer was removed from the the Ice Den Chandler located at 56th Street and Harrison Street. (Trailer plate: Arizona = 24341C)

The trailer contained gear for the Arizona Bobcats Youth Hockey Program. Players and teams are devastated by the situation and now scrambling to prepare for the season.

Video shows a Toyota Sequoia with the license plate in the back window of the driver’s side.

If you have information regarding the incident please call Chandler PD non-emergency silent tip line: (480) 782-4440.

As a result of the social media post local news outlets have picked up the story and the Chandler Police Department is looking into the situation. Obviously we hope that those responsible for this shameful act are apprehended and prosecuted for what they did to these kids. If you have any information please contact the number provided in the official statement.
