Zuccarello pokes fun at his former teammate

Following his team’s practice at Canadian Tire Centre this morning, New York Rangers star forward Mats Zuccarello was met by the assembled media to break down his team’s second round playoff series against the Ottawa Senators. His analysis was typical and what you might expect from a hockey player in such circumstances. Plenty of, “we’re ready for a tough battle”, “We just have to find a way” and “we’re ready to go” type answers. 

The tone changed however when Zuccarello was asked  about facing off against former teammate and good friend Derick Brassard. “Who? I don’t know him,” was the witty remark from Zuccarello when asked specifically about Brassard. There was a slight twinkle in his eye when he delivered the response, so it appears there’s no love lost. However, Rangers fans can fully expect Zuccarello and the rest of the Rangers to show no mercy towards their former teammate when they take to the ice in Ottawa tomorrow evening.
