The Las Vegas Golden Knights and the Vancouver Canucks have only had a few minutes expire in the first period of their Sunday night game, but we have already has some highlight reel stuff from both teams.

Just a few minutes into the game's opening frame the Canucks were granted a terrific scoring opportunity when star forward Elias Pettersson found himself alone in front of a yawning cage, but that scoring opportunity would be shut down. Golden Knights star goaltender Marc Andre Fleury has been at the top of his game this season and he pulled off one of his very best saves of the 2019 - 2020 National Hockey League regular season thus far on Sunday against the Canucks. Fleury suddenly appeared seemingly out of nowhere, sliding across the crease to deny Pettersson the scoring opportunity. It was a truly incredible save, but Pettersson still had one more trick to play.

The dynamic Canucks forward pulled a surprise move of his own when he dove forward with just one hand on his stuck and effectively shoved the puck into the net past Fleury and the Golden Knights defense to tie the game for his Canucks. It was an incredible play on the part of Pettersson both for the skill that he put on display in making it, as well as for the awareness that he showed by having the presence of mind to even think of making such a play in the split second he had to make that decision.
