Arizona's arena plans may be in trouble after powerful politician mocks them on live TV.

Could this mean big trouble for the Coyotes?

The Arizona Coyotes announced grand plans to move their franchise to a new and more suitable location as soon as humanly possible, but those announcements were made without the approval of some of the very powerful politicians the Coyotes will need to make those plans a reality.

Late last week an Arizona politician was on a live news broadcast openly mocking the plans from the Coyotes and it was none other than House Majority Leader John Allen, a man with a great deal of pull in Arizona.

Allen balked at the notion that the public would pay $200 million to fund half of the $400 million proposed development project from the Coyotes, and expressed serious doubts about the state ever being able to recoup those funds on a project like the Coyotes, who have not exactly been a roaring success thus far.

While Allen's criticism may draw the ire of some hockey fans, when he points out that the money could be used insteadon things like foster care for children it's hard not to give his comments some credence.
