Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews may not be the captain of the Toronto Maple Leafs, but he certainly was leading by example on Friday night.
In a huge Game 5 in their first round series against the Washington Capitals, Matthews came up huge in the second period to get his Maple Leafs back in the game. After some tough battles on a number of shifts leading up to the goal, Matthews finally got one to go, beating Braden Holtby who thus far had been perfect.
It was a great effort to give the Leafs a shot at taking the lead in this extremely tight playoff series.
