The National Hockey League had a unique puck drop ahead of the Sunday night match up between the Anaheim Ducks and Calagry Flames.

It was military appreciation night in Anaheim, and with several members of the armed forces at center ice for a ceremonial puck drop, it was a bomb sniffing dog who was given the honor of being the one who actually dropped the puck. The dog did a great job, with a little help from his trainer, and the ceremony went off without a hitch.

It was a great moment, and it was followed up by a 4-1 win for the home team, a win that helped the Flames set an NHL record for losing on the road.

Here's the video.
