Breaking: An extremely emotional Zetterberg speaks to the media.

If you think Henrik Zetterberg isn't emotionally invested in the performance of his team, think again.

On Tuesday night the Detroit Red Wings were officially eliminated from playoff contention, putting an end to their insane 25 straight seasons with a playoff appearance. It was the longest running streak in all four major sports in North America.

Zetterberg, the teams' captain, spoke to the media after the game and it was clear he was struggling to contain his emotions. There were tears in his eyes and even his voice made it clear that Zetterberg was overcome with guilt and grief at having lost the streak.

There's no shame in him wearing his heart on his sleeve like that, and if anything it will only endear him to fans even more.
