Whether intentional or not Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin is doing a great job of putting damage on the members of the Penguins roster.

Ovechkin's deadly shot once again left a Penguins' player in a great deal of pain on Wednesday night, this time it was veteran Patric Hornqvist who was on the receiving end of a streaking puck from Ovechkin's stick, and this time it caught him right on the knee.

Blaming Ovechkin for intentionally doing so would be a tad bit ridiculous here as Hornqvist clearly was sacrificing his own body in order to prevent the shot from Ovechkin from reaching the net of goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury.

Hornqvist stayed on the bench for a few moments in obvious pain, but he eventually went back to the locker room and has not yet returned.

Correction: As you can see our article incorrectly attributed the shot to Alexander Ovechkin when it fact the shot was taken by Brooks Orpik. For the sake of transparency we are leaving the article up in it's current form with the correction listed here at the bottom.

The confusion stems from the fact that Ovechkin was penalized on the same play, our sincerest apologies to our readers.

Update: Hornqvist appears ok, he is back out on the ice.
