Breaking: Vicious two-handed slash sends Bowey to the locker room with an injury.

This could easily be a suspension.

The match up between the San Jose Sharks and the Washington Capitals on Monday night got very rough very quickly.

It all started with a questionable hit form National Hockey League veteran Joe Thornton, a hit that knocked out Washington Capitals star forward T.J. Oshie. That got the Capitals blood boiling and things really heated up from that point forward.

Capitals enforcer Tom Wilson would eventually challenge Thornton to a fight, something that Thornton surprisingly accepted eagerly, and Wilson would get revenge for Oshie by dropping Thornton with a single punch.

The rough stuff continued all the way until the very end however and with just four seconds left on the game lock San Jose's Brendan Dillon delivered a nasty looking two-handed slash to Washington's Madison Bowey.

Bowey was clearly feeling the ill-effects of the slash and immediately headed to the locker room to have it looked at. We obviously have no way of knowing how badly he was injured, but by the looks of the slash we wouldn't be surprised if there are a few broken bones in there.
