Brutal video of a knock out hit in the NHL this week-end.

There is no doubt this hit will be reviewed.

If you ever needed a textbook hit to demonstrate all the things the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety wants to remove from the game of hockey, this hit from Los Angeles King Tanner Pearson would fit that bill.

While initially it did not appear to be intentional, upon seeing the slow motion replay in the video below one can clearly see that Pearson launched his shoulder up and into the head of Edmonton Oiler Brandon Davidson.

No official word yet but we have a feeling this hit could lead to a suspension.
