Today is Mother's Day, so first and foremost if you're ready this and you have not yet wished your mother a Happy Mother's Day make sure you do so asap.

As is always the case with every holiday event on the calendar business from around the world will do their best to market themselves while celebrating said holiday, and the National Hockey League is no different. Today the NHL has got a pretty good one for you thanks to their Canadian broadcast partners over at Sportsnet who put together a pretty neat little video showcasing some of the games biggest stars including Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby, Washington Capitals forward T,J, Oshie, Arizona Coyotes star forward Taylor Hall, Colorado Avalanche star forward Nathan MacKinnon and many more.

In the video the guys all get together with a Sportsnet film crew to share their favorite retelling of some pretty amazing stories featuring each players mother. Each player is asked to share their favorite story from the past involving their mom and although some no doubt air on the side of caution and share what you would consider some pretty safe or tame stories, there are some spicy ones thrown into the mix as well.

The highlight in my opinion however came from the aforementioned T.J. Oshie who I must admit surprised quite a bit with his favorite story about his hockey mom. Oshie recalls a game that was played up in Vancouver, Canada, although he does not specify at which period of his playing career this took place, a game in which his mom apparently got "pretty feisty" with some of the parents from the opposing side. Now you might think that might just involve some yelling and screaming but it sounds like things actually got pretty intense according to Oshie. The Capitals star forward goes on to describe how his mom got "physical" during the incident which is quite stunning considering that Oshie revealed she was arguing with another dad.

Oshie adds that most people assume he gets his "pitbull" mentality from his dad but says that his father is just a big teddy bear and that the aforementioned pitbull mentality actually comes from his mother.
