Dion Phaneuf drives former teammate Phil Kessel hard into the boards.

Former Toronto Maple Leaf and current Ottawa Senators defenseman warned his former teammate Phil Kessel, also a former Maple Leaf and currently facing the Senators in the Eastern Conference Final as a member of the Pittsburgh Penguins, that there would be no friends out on the ice, and now it's clear he meant it. 

On Wednesday night Phaneuf drove Kessel hard into the boards adding injury to insult in a game where the Ottawa Senators where already up a significant margin with a 4-0 lead. 

In the final minutes of the first period Kessel tried to dump the puck into the Ottawa zone but Phaneuf punished him hard , following him all the way to the boards where Kessel crashed hard and at an awkward angle.
