The feud between the Philadelphia Flyers defenseman and Edmonton Oilers forward began back in McDavid’s rookie season, when a seemingly accidental incident between the two led to a serious injury to McDavid.

Last night, the public enemy No. 1 was in Edmonton and he had Maroon, Lucic and Kassian all over his back during the game. It all started with this sparing of Lucic.

And then after, Maroon dropped him.

“It didn’t bother me,” Manning said after the game. “I’m not scared of fighting. I wasn’t really worried or thinking about that today.”

“He asked me to go,” said Maroon. “If it wasn’t me, I’m sure it would have been somebody else.”

“We had our fight and it’s over and done with.” said Maroon
