There has been a ton of speculation regarding the future of National Hockey League legend Jaromir Jagr and it seems rather clear now that Jagr himself as been playing very close attention to those rumors.

On Wednesday Jagr released a video on social media where he addressed those rumors and also took the time to show his very loyal fan base some love, although the video was in his native language of Czech.

Thankfully a user named Ontyyy on social media was kind enough to produce a translation for all those of us who aren't exactly fluent in Czech. Here is his translation in unedited and in full:

Hi Hockey family, I decided that this time im not going to talk to you in written form, but I'll talk to you face to face. I wanted to adress the topics regarding "Jagr and Czech Hockey Team" and "Jagr and Olympic games" few days ago I did an interview with Robert Záruba (Czech hockey commentator), one of the questions asked was regarding my plans/options for the upcoming season, my answer was that my priority is to try to play at least one more seasons in the NHL, if that were to fail I'd play either in Europe or in Kladno (Jagr's team) and attempt a comeback to the national team and play at the olympics.

My answer was honest, I didn't think about what I said I answered according to what I felt, but I didn't think It'd be such a big deal in the media, journalists were calling hockey experts and coaches asking If my comeback would be benefit or not.
Just to explain to you why I said such thing:

I think that every person, not just me, not just in sport but in life aswell, people need goals and motivation. The bigger the motivation and goals are, the higher the chances are of you giving your best to reach said goals. Thats why I need to set my goals and have motivation for the upcoming season, usually my goals were to be the best player I could be, score as many goals as possible, be benefitial for the team. And now that I think of it, If I won't end up playing in the NHL, my goal is going to be an attempt to play for the Czech National Team again. However I didn't mean it in the way that I'll just be there, thats up to coaches, my form, if im gonna be beneficial for the team, aswell as things I can't influence.

The only thing I can do is set a goal for myself and do my best to reach that goal. Whether I make it or not, that's not important as of now. My point was to have a goal for next season, I don't wanna just go to the stadium and just skate around for the sake of it and go home. That wouldn't make me a professional but an amateur that plays hockey literally for fun (with no goal to improve). So I just hope you'll all understand, I didn't mean anything by it. I didn't want this to blow up, I'd really prefer if people stopped talking about it and whatever happens, happens.

Thats where I wanna end it, thank you to everyone that understands me, thanks to everyone that'll respect that and thanks to the journalist who will hopefully stop calling the experts and coaches with the question "Does Jagr belong in the national team or not, If it would be benefitial or not".
I just took it as the biggest motivation and goal if I end up playing in Europe.

For those of you who would still like to watch the video we've also included it below, and it's worth watching just to see how Jagr reacts emotionally during the video. We may be reading too much into this, but he appeared to be a little sad.
