John Tavares misses on a wide open net.

The Columbus Blue Jackets are currently leading the Toronto Maple Leafs 1 - 0 in the 5th and final game of their Qualifying Round series and if the Leafs go on to lose this game, this moment is one they will be looking back on for a long time. 

The Leafs have had a couple of chances to tie the game thus far but none have come closer than Leafs captain John Tavares who had a great opportunity to bring the Leafs back to even, but failed to convert. To be fair to the Leafs forward here he was not the recipient of the cleanest pass in the world on this play, the puck would have hit him right in the skates, and that forced him to shoot at a very awkward angle. It was a tough shot but one that you expect a player of his level to make, especially given the current circumstances. 

There's no question that the net was wide open for Tavares, Columbus Blue Jackets Joonas Korpisalo wasn't even looking in his direction and might as well have been in a different zip code at that point, a heartbreaking miss for Tavares.
