Jordan Binnington pulled after an abysmal .500 save percentage tonight.

The Stanley Cup winning goaltender has just had arguably one of the worst outings of his career.

The St. Louis Blues had a huge night on Saturday night when they welcomed the Toronto Maple Leafs to town, but it had little to do with the game itself. The night just so happened to be the night in which St. Louis Blues superfan Laila Anderson would be on hand with Kenton Felmlee, the man credited with saving the young girls life by being her donor. It was a truly emotional moment and if you just so happened to miss it I would highly recommend you check it out here.

As lovely as things were in the crowd for the Blues tonight however they were just as ugly on the ice for the defending Stanley Cup Champions and in particular for Blues star Jordan Binnington. The Blues starting netminder has had a very good start to the season coming off the heels of his unexpected run to the Stanley Cup Championship last season but tonight may have been his worst outing as a goaltender in the NHL thus far. The Blues netminder faced a total of just 8 shots this evening before head coach Craig Berube had seen enough, and even then it may have been too little too late as Binnington had already allowed a whopping 4 goals on those first 8 shots.

The Maple Leafs got on the board early and although they did get some pretty good scoring opportunities some of these goals were hard to defend. Binnington clearly had his body in position on a couple of them but for whatever reason the hockey gods were not smiling upon him this evening and the puck simply continued to find its way through his big body.

It was Leafs forward Zach Hyman who opened the scoring.

It was Auston Matthews who followed up on a shot from a screened position, again with the puck going right through Binnington.

The third goal was definitely a teamwide failure with the Leafs getting way too good of a chance while shorthanded.

It was then the much maligned Jason Spezza who added his 8th point in just 9 games on another puck that found its way through Binnington.

A rough outing to be sure.
