Kunin and Polak trade bombs and both men leave bloody!

What a war!

We had one hell of a scrap in the National Hockey League this evening ladies and gentlemen.

On Saturday night the Minnesota Wild were taking on the Dallas Stars at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul Minnesota and through roughly the first 33 minutes of play the game had been relatively uneventful. Both teams of course had their share of scoring chances up until that point but the score remained all tied up at 0 - 0. It was just a little over 12 minutes into the second period however that sparks would really ignite under both teams.

To be perfectly honest I'm not entirely sure what instigated the fight between Minnesota Wild forward Luke Kunin and Dallas Stars defenseman Roman Polak but from the moment these two dropped the gloves it was very obvious that both men had very bad intentions towards the other. Both men immediately began throwing bombs right out of the gate and in the case of both men some of those monster punches connected. Incredibly neither man seemed phase by the onslaught of blows and they both just kept swinging wildly until a wild punch from Kunin eventually put him far enough off balance that Polak was able to take him down.

It was not until after the fight was over that we could inspect the damage that both men had done to one another and it was significant damage indeed. As both players came up you could clearly see blood on their faces, in the case of Polak it looked like his nose had been busted wide open as he sported a crimson mask while in the case of Kunin it looked more like he had suffered just a light laceration and as a result had a streak of blood going over part of his face.

Without a doubt though the most chilling sight following this fight was the look on Kunin's face as he rose up from the ice like an absolute madman. Of course the blood on his face added to the look, but the way that Kunin laughed maniacally at Polak after the fight was more than enough to convince me that Luke Kunin is not a man to be trifled with.
