Scott Laughton of the Philadelphia Flyers took a beating on the this play.

During the first period of the Tuesday night match up between the Flyers and the San Jose Sharks, Laughton was the victim of a questionable hit from 24-year-old Sharks defenseman Dylan DeMelo.

DeMelo appeared to stick his leg out when he attempted to deliver a hit to Laughton, resulting in an awkward collision that sent the 23-year-old Flyers center crashing to the ice.

To make matters worse Demelo then turned around and tripped over Laughton and as he did his right knee came crashing down on Laughton's head causing it to smack against the ice.

Laughton left the game immediately after the incident.
