A crazy game on Monday afternoon.

The Toronto Maple Leafs and the Carolina Hurricanes faced off on Monday and it was one hell of a contest. The Leafs initially took a 3 - 0 lead in this one believe it or not and, just when it looked like the Hurricanes were ready to fade in the game's opening period, the Canes answered back with 5 straight goals of their own. Eventually the Leafs clawed that lead back and we ended up with a whopping 14 goals being scored in an 8 - 6 victory from the Leafs.

If you missed any of today's action from what had to be one of the best game's of the 2019 - 2020 National Hockey League regular season so far, don't worry we've got you covered.

After being a healthy scratch in the Leafs' previous game Maple Leafs veteran Jason Spezza opened up the scoring in this one.

Maple Leafs forward William Nylander who saw the 5th lowest ice time total of his career in Toronto's last game was up next.

Maple Leafs captain John Tavares called for the puck before spinning and firing the puck past former Maple Leafs goaltender James Reimer for Toronto's third goal in the first 5 minutes of the game. That was enough for Hurricanes head coach Rob Brind'Amour who pulled Reimer at this point. Remember this because it will be important later on.

The Hurricanes finally started to answer back with Petr Mrazek in net for them, Brock McGinn cut the lead to two with this goal.

A beautiful deflection from Martin Necas cut the lead down to just one.

Some bad puck control from the Leafs led to Necas' second goal of the game, tying it up at 3 - 3.

Erik Haula had the next goal and at this point it was starting to feel like Carolina was running away with it.

That feeling only got worse when Andrei Svechnikov made it 5 - 3.

It was Leafs captain Auston Matthews who woke the Leafs back up with this goal.

That was quickly answered by Erik Haula with his 2nd goal of the game.

At this point is where the wheels fell off for the Hurricanes with the Leafs going off for 4 consecutive goals courtesy of Mitch MarnerTyson Barrie, Mitch Marner again, and Pierre Engvall.
