Mike Babcock goes off on linesman after he cost the Leafs a goal.

You don't often see veteran head coach Mike Babcock lose his cool, especially not now, but on Tuesday night the National Hockey League officials just rubbed him the wrong way.

Babcock clearly felt that his players were receiving unfair treatment in the face off circle and, when a call from an NHL linesman led to a Philadelphia Flyers goal, Babcock went ballistic.

Not only was Babcock dropping some inaudible but rather clear F-bombs on the official, but he even went into theatrics and histrionics when he gave the linesman a very sarcastic round of applause. While Babcock himself thought it was a terrible call, during an intermission interview Leafs veteran Patrick Marleau said the Leafs did in fact make a mistake in the face off circle.

In the end the tirade didn't earn the Maple Leafs head coach a damn thing, unless you count the stern warning he received from the officials after the fact.
