Evgeny Svechnikov, making his NHL debut, slides a backhander through Craig Anderson's pads for the lone shootout goal in Detroit's victory.

What he said after the game: 

"Coach pointed at me and said 'go' and the guys told me to do my thing," he said. "This is just an unbelievable moment." said Svechnikov.

"I did that move in Grand Rapids a couple times and scored, so I knew that's what I wanted to do," he said.
