Alexander Ovechkin is not on pace for a 50-goal season for the first time since the 2011-2012 campaign, that's enough of a statement. Alexander The Great is undeniably the best goal-scorer of this generation and is probably the only one to play in the NHL right now who has a real shot at Gretzky's record (we'll give Patrik Laine some time). 

This breakaway beauty might have fired up Ovechkin and one could expect him to get into the playoff gear as soon as the Christmas break is over. With 50 games left to play and 35 goals to score, don't sell Ovechkin short on reaching the 50-goal mark.
