New camera angle shows NHL agitator clearly biting his opponent.

That just does not look very tasty at all.

On Friday night the Vancouver Canucks and the San Jose Sharks played in a game that honestly was rather underwhelming due in large part to the major slump that the Canucks have seemingly found themselves in over the course of their last several games. The Canucks have been on a strong losing streak as of late and on Friday the Sharks took full advantage of that when they cruised to victory over what is admittedly a Canucks franchise in the middle of a retooling or rebuilding process. The Sharks stomped the Canucks by a final margin of 4 - 0 but all the talk regarding that game today will not be on the subject of the scoreline.

There were some very interesting comments made by San Jose Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic following the game and although at the time they were unsubstantiated, we now know that he was very much telling the truth. When speaking to reporters following the blowout from the Sharks Vlasic told the media that he had been bitten, yes bitten, by none other than notorious Vancouver Canucks agitator Antoine Roussel during the course of the game on Friday night. At the time of his comments San Jose Sharks beat reporter Kevin Kurz stated that Vlasic had showed him a mark on his hand, but it was difficult to tell if that was concrete proof of whether or not he had been bitten, at least not without seeing the same mark that Kurnz saw.

Now however a new video angle that had not previously been provided during the live broadcast of the incident has been made available and in that angle we can see that Roussel does clearly chomp down on Vlasic's hand, and in fact appears to do it with some measure of force involved as well. Now to be fair to Roussel here there's no doubt that that Vlasic was deliberately trying to provoke a reaction out of the NHL agitator but I highly doubt that this was the reaction that he had been hoping for. In the video Vlasic can be seen shoving his hand into Roussel's ear and face and it is only after a few seconds of that agitation that Roussel retaliates with the bite.

Wonder if the league will review this.
