Nick Seeler goes to town on Martin Kraut in one-sided scrap.

If you're going to try and get under the skin of your opponent in the National Hockey League, you need to realise that there may come a time and place where you will be asked to answer for that behavior. In fact, as Colorado Avalanche forward Martin Kraut learned on Saturday night, sometimes you may not even be asked.

Kraut and the Avalanche faced off against the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night in preseason action and although it was in theory a meaningless game, that did not prevent things from getting extremely heated in the contest. Although there was plenty of back and forth on both sides of the ice during this game, a major focal point of the mounting tensions between these two teams on the night was the ongoing battle between the aforementioned Martin Kraut, and Minnesota Wild defenseman Nick Seeker

Both Kraut and Seeler were battling with each other throughout the evening and it appeared as though neither man was prepared to give an inch in the battle. Seeler however seemed much more willing to engage in an actual scrap than Kraut did, and although it seemed like the two men might come to blows eventually each time the gloves failed to come off. That is at least until Seeler blew a gasket after finally having more than enough of the antics from Kraut.

During what should have been a nothing play, Seeler cleared the puck up the ice from his own end only to get a parting shot in the back courtesy of Kraut who was clearly still trying to get under Seeler's skin. Unfortunately for the Avalanche forward his tactics worked a little too well and when Seeler got back to his feet he was not taking no for an answer. Seeler appeared to hop back up and take his gloves off in a single motion and the Minnesota Wild defenseman wasted no time in proceeding to let Kraut know exactly what he thought of his behavior during the game up until that point.

The result was Seeler raining blows on Kraut in a totally one-sided affair, one in which Kraut never even had time to get his gloves off. In fact the only thing Kraut seemed to do at all in this one was absorb damage from his angry opponent.
